Is Edifier a Good Brand?

Edifier hails from China and the company deals in audio manufacturing. It is renowned for delivering quality music systems, headphones, and speakers at affordable prices.

Edifier products are best for home entertainment and personal use. But is Edifier a good brand? Having owned and recommended many Edifier products over the years, I feel I can provide an interesting view on this.

Is Edifier a good brand?

Edifier is a well-established, worldwide brand that offers a wide variety of high-quality audio products such as Bookshelf speakers and headphones. They offer great warranties and any time I had an issue, their email support was second to none.

Customer Support

Innovation and quality are not the only two features of Edifier’s products. The company also stands behind its products and provides its customers with after-sale services and support.

As the company operates in more than 70 countries worldwide, the terms and conditions would differ as per the rules and regulations of the region.

Edifier provides a 2-year warranty on all its Image Series products, a 1-year warranty on its Multimedia Series products, and a 1-year warranty on its Studio Series products.

I can vouch for this as I had a problem with my Edifier 1700BT which was replaced without any issues.

The warranty starts from the date of purchase and valid for the original purchaser only with the purchase receipt.

And according to these warranties, the company or its authorized dealers will repair or replace the product with a similar model if it defects in workmanship or material during the warranty period. The replacement parts or products might include refurbished or remanufactured components.

Does Edifier Make Good Speakers?

Edifier became popular in the market primarily due to its speakers. These speakers come with innovative technologies and deliver good performance overall. And the best part is they look great and won’t break your bank balance either.

R1700BT is a good example to consider here if you are looking for a budget-friendly option. These speakers come with a maximum output of 66W and serve to be a great choice for gaming and watching movies.

These bookshelf speakers feature Bluetooth connectivity and you can also access the controls via remote control. With a frequency response ranging between 60Hz and 20kHz and a signal-to-noise ratio of around 85dB, these speakers are a good deal.

And if you are looking for high-end premium quality speakers, Edifier doesn’t disappoint you in that department either. Consider the R2000DB for instance. Here is a comparison I did recently between the R1700BT and the R2000DB for reference.

These speakers come with Bluetooth technology and a maximum power output of 120W. These speakers have a frequency response ranging from 55Hz and 20kHz and play a wide array of sounds and vocals pretty easily.

If you are looking for better bass handling and overall better sound, these are the speakers you need to consider. Hence, they are best for audiophiles.

There are various other good quality speakers you can consider as well. These include the likes of R1280T, R1280DB, and R1850DB. In my experience, you will find it hard to find an Edifier product that doesn’t mee your expectations at each given price point.

Does Edifier Make Good Headphones?

Edifier has recently entered the headphone market as well. And again, the company continues its tradition of making quality products at affordable rates. For instance, W830BT would be a good option for you. But being budget-friendly doesn’t mean these headphones lack features.

The high-fidelity headphones can connect with your phone and you can control them remotely. They are easy to connect with other devices as well such as a PC or a laptop.

The 40mm driver of these ergonomic headphones can produce a good sound and offer you a playback time of 95 hours. So, you won’t have to recharge them anytime soon.

If you are looking for premium quality, you can go for the W860NB. These stylish headphones come with active noise cancellation to take care of any surrounding sound.

These over-ear headphones also feature Bluetooth and Near Field Communication technologies. And despite being budget headphones, they come with a carrying case for easy pack and go.

These headphones feature playback of 45 hours with smart controls. The over-ear pads of these headphones ensure all-day wearing comfort for you.

So, you can see Edifier has some quality headphones on offer and they fall in different price categories and come with an array of latest features.

Brief History of Edifier

The company was established in 1996 in Beijing. Edifier was first to produce 4.1 and 2.1 speakers featuring wooden enclosures.

And with its satellite design including a subwoofer, the brand became the household name across the Chinese Mainland. It has also launched the CES series which comprises the brand’s gaming headphone collection.

It rose to global fame with its high-quality bookshelf and tabletop computer series. And now it is one of the top brands in the industry. In 1996, the company established its first production center in Canada. The second production center was built in Beijing, China in 1998.

In 2010, it became the first audio speaker company to be publicly listed in China. March of 2011 saw Edifier completely acquiring Stax, which is an electrostatic ear speaker manufacturing company in Japan.

Since then it has never looked back. It has continued to introduce innovative technologies to make sure the customers get their money’s worth. And in addition to performance, these speakers and audio devices by Edifier don’t look bad sitting on your shelves and tabletops either.

Today, the company has its distributors in more than 70 countries across the globe. It operates in North America, Asia Pacific, South America, and Middle Eastern regions.

Edifier is a top-quality brand that provides its users with a variety of options when it comes to features and affordability. Whether you are looking for speakers or headphones, Edifier has a wide range of options will surely make you spoilt for choice.

Customer service is something I always look out for when reviewing brands and thankfully, I have never been let then when it comes to Edifiers support. They offer great warranties and excellent customer support for any issues you have with their products.

Edifier is one of my favorite brands in the market today and I highly recommend you go for one of their products if you are interested in picking up a pair of speakers or headphones. If you are interested, I wrote a review of the best Edifier Bookshelf speakers which you can read here.
